You must print out the receipt/notice/checklist that appears on the screen telling you of any additional documents/paperwork that needs be completed and returned to the Department. It will have a barcode and must be included with the additional items needed by TX DPS.

**At the end of the application you will be asked to make an appointment with IdentoGO Centers (formerly L-1 Enrollment Services) operated by MorphoTrust USA to have your fingerprints scanned electronically at one of their locations (This is the best time to do this). If you do not schedule at this time, you will have to wait at least 24 hours before you can make an appointment and will need numbers from paper work from TX DPS.

Step 3

Complete your appointment for fingerprints with IdentoGO.

Step 4

Schedule and attend our CHL class.

(Obtaining a permit to carry concealed in the State of Texas requires completion of the course, qualifying with a handgun at the range, and passing a 25 question test)

At the successful completion of my class, I will issue to you the CHL-100 form needed for the TXDPS application.

You will now be ready to mail your completed application packet to TX DPS!

Note: You may attend the CHL class before submitting your application or having your fingerprints scanned However, you must submit your application before making an appointment to have your fingerprints scanned.

You can come to class and get a hard copy application from me or go online and print one. But if you file a hard copy application instead of an electronic application, you will have to send it in with your other documentation and be assigned a number which they will mail back to you so you can set up your fingerprints with IdentoGO/L1 solutions.

Note: You can contact me if you need any help along the way.
